Latvia’s proposed 10% starter micro-business tax: who could use it and where the 25% risk begins
On 17 September, Latvia’s Parliament is considering a 10% turnover tax for very small first-time economic activity with annual turnover of up to €12,000. Payment would be withheld automatically through a dedicated business income account, but strict eligibility rules mean that a breach could raise the effective rate to 25%.
